Pick the Gradient tool in the Tools bar and make sure the linear gradient is selected.

Click the current gradient, then hit the small arrow button to get the gradient menu. On this menu, locate and click Reset Gradients then confirm.

On the new gradient palette pick the one called "Transparent Rainbow".
