Now go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast and tone down the amount of light pixels. I set the Brightness to -90 and the Contrast to +40.
Duplicate the background layer, then resize the copy to about 200%. For this use the Ctrl+T combination and Shift+drag one of the top layer's corners. You may have to Zoom Out to be able to do the transformation.
Hit Enter to confirm the transformation then set the new layer's blending to Screen.
