Back to polygons. On the bottom side of the chair select the four groups of polygons highlighted above.

Inset the selection using Group as Inset Type and an Inset Amount of 8.

Bevel the selection using Height: 90 and Outline Amount: 8. Bevel it again, this time using Height: 2 and Outlne Amount: -5.
