Rotate the selection so all vertices stay now "on the floor". You may also have to move them down a bit to be aligned with the bottom of the thick lines.
Also scale the selection towards the front of the chair to compensate the width loss resulted from the rotation.
Back to the seating part, select the Box, go into Edge mode (shortcut: "2") and hit Ctrl+A to select all edges.
